The Democratic Voice of Burma is a non-profit Burmese media organization committed to responsible journalism.

The Karen Human Rights Group (KHRG) is a small and independent group documenting the human rights situation in rural Burma by working directly with rural villagers who are suffering abuses such as forced labour, systematic destruction of villages and crops, forced relocation, extortion, looting, arbitrary detention, torture, sexual assault and summary executions. The vast majority of these abuses are committed by soldiers and officials of the State Peace & Development Council (SPDC), Burma's ruling military junta.

The Karen Women's Organisation was formed in 1949 and has a membership of over 30,000 women. Mizzima News Group is a news and feature service organized by Burmese media persons in exile. It was established in August 1998 with the aim of promoting democracy and freedom of expression in Burma. It works as an independent and non-profit news agency covering on Burma and Burma-related issues.
